Good Neighbors Garden Events
Throughout the year, we plan different activities. Some are social events, for example, the end-of-summer "Harvest Party".
However, a good way to get to know people, and stay involved, is to attend the twice-weekly garden work sessions.
These summer work days will take place Mondays and Wednesdays, from 6 pm to 8 pm, beginning in May. There are also two Saturdays per month. Saturday work-days begin at 11am. (See our calendar for specific dates.)
The work days exist in order for garden members to collaborate on garden projects together. For example, building up the paths, or fence work, perennial planting, community plot maintenance and other group projects that come up at meetings.
In addition to being a time for collaboration on communal projects, the work days are also an opportunity for members to work on their individual plots while other garden members are around. This facilitates resource and knowledge sharing and community building among members.
Additionally, group discussion meetings will be held on the 2nd Wednesday of every month, from 6 pm to 8 pm, at the garden site. These meetings will be in lieu of the regular work days. The first meeting will be May 12, 2010.
